BOOK SYNOPSIS
Jewels in the Landscape: A Celebration of Louisiana's Wildflowers is a beautifully photographed and clearly written book that will delight readers of all ages. Kelso Walder traveled to every corner of Louisiana and photographed all 194 flowers shown in their natural habitats, with natural lighting where possible.

The pictures are arranged according to the colors of the rainbow, one color blending into the next. The text gfives useful, interesting and botanically accurate information about each flower, including its common and scientific names, blooming period, and habitat.

Many wildflowers have medicinal and magical properties attributed to them, and is accordingly noted in the text. The author/photographer has taken special care to mention which plants are known to be poisonous.

Jewels in the Landscape: A Celebration of Louisiana's Wildflowers is an indispensible handbook and reference for the Louisiana naturalist or gardener.
