As a collection of writings, many of which are written by the foundations themselves, the book engages the reader in the different approaches funders use to define gender equity, target limited resources, and create collaborative relationships that will ultimately make schools more equitable and engaging for boys and girls of a variety of cultural backgrounds.

AUTHOR BIO
Alice E. Ginsberg is a Research Associate with Goodman Research Group. Her most recent book is Gender in Urban Education: Strategies for Student Achievement. Marybeth Gasman is a faculty member in the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania. She is the author of Envisioning Black Colleges: A History of the United Negro College Fund and Uplifting a People: African American Philanthropy and Education.
