In this new paperback edition of the award winning, "The Nine Lives of Romeo Crumb - Life One", the secret world of cats is revealed in an epic tale of feline civil war where we first meet young Romeo, a stray who finds himself battered between two very different worlds. It's the domestic cats, the Sticks, vs. the street cats, the Alleys, as battle lines are drawn, warriors train for combat and a hero emerges to inspire a nation. Fraught with danger from page one, Romeo loses his family, finds a new home with "his person", 9-year old Dennis Crumb, and is befriended by a wise cat who lives nearby. "Life One" ends with Romeo's first death. But fear not, our hero-in-the-making lives again in "Life Two".
AUTHOR BIO
L. Rifkin currently teaches kindergarten in Los Angeles, California. She and her husband, artist/illustrator Kurt Hartman, share a home with their toddler son, Henry, a new baby girl, and four rambunctious cats. She has her BA from the University of Southern California and a Master's in Education from Lesley College in Boston.
