AUTHOR BIO
Living in the High Sierra of California since 1978, John Moynier is a freelance writer and photographer who works as a certified ski mountaineering guide, serves as an avalanche forecaster for the eastern Sierra region, and is a member of the American Association of Avalanche Professionals (AAAP). He regularly teaches avalanche courses and oversees the Mammoth Lakes Area's community avalanche awareness program.
