Philippe Boch is a former professor of materials science and engineering at the Université Pierre & Marie CurieParis and a former professor and director of doctoral studies in materials science. His contributions appear in more than 200 scientific papers and have won several awards, including the Stuijts Award of the European Ceramic Society and the Chaudron Medal of the French Society of Metallurgy and Materials. He is a distinguished life member of the American Ceramic Society and a member of the World Academy of Ceramics.
