Meet Scotsman Edward Harriman, whose quest to shoot an Alaskan brown bear resulted in the identification of nearly 600 previously undiscovered plants and animals. Read about the construction of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, which pumps more than one million barrels of oil daily through frozen terrain. And learn how the 1985 Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race brought both the race and musher Libby Riddles international fame.
