Frequently Asked Questions

I can't log in.
If you are having trouble logging in, there are five common problems.

1) You haven't registered yet.
If this is the case, notice that above the login form, there is an option, "Not Registered? Click Here."

2) You are entering the wrong password.
Be sure to differentiate between lower case "L" and the number "1". (If you are reading your password in a sans-serif font such as Arial, it may be difficult to tell the difference. You may need to select the password and change the font to something like Times New Roman.) Also be sure to omit any spaces before, after, or within the password and e-mail (underscores "_" may appear in your e-mail, of course). Login information is not case-sensitive, i.e. upper and lower case letters will both work.

3) You are copying & pasting your e-mail and/or login into the submission boxes.
Copying text, particularly with recent software applications, picks up formatting and other hidden instructions, which will cause our system to reject your login. Please enter your e-mail and password manually.

4) You don't have the correct password.
Notice that above login form, there is an option, "Forgot Password? Click Here". hen you click, it will take you to a page that asks for your e-mail address. Note that the e-mail address must be the same as the registration e-mail for the author/publisher. When you fill it out, the password will be e-mailed to that address.

5) You have "cookies" turned off.
A cookie is a small text file placed on your computer by a web site to allow the web site to remember something about you at a later time. booksXYZ uses cookies to distinguish you from other users, which allows for things like keeping information about your current books and orders separate from such information for other users. As such, if you have cookies disabled, you will be unable to place an order on the web site. For more information on cookies, click here.

What do I do to correct a mistake I made when submitting information about myself/my book?

You can quickly correct/change your information any time you need to, as often as you would like.

After you enter booksXYZ, simply select "Author," then "Login," and enter your e-mail and password. This will take you to your administration page, where you can change your personal information or book information, by clicking on the appropriate links.

At any point for 4 hours after you have logged in, you can click "Author" and it will take you to a panel with a number of options. "Admin Page" is listed on the left.

Note that you can also log out when you have finished editing your information. We strongly advise you to do this when you are using a computer to which someone else may have access.

What do I do if I don't see the category for my book listed?

We will constantly modify categories based on authors' and visitors' feedback. There are two things you can do to assist us in adding new categories.

First, e-mail us with the category you would like to see us add. Second, in your keywords include the category name you would like to be added. We will regularly look at key search terms, and if a possible category shows with frequency, we will add it.

I represent a small publisher with a number of titles. Is there an easier way to submit our books, other than entering the data one item at a time?
Yes. Once you have registered, your administration page has a link to download an Excel spreadsheet that will serve as a template for formatting your book data.
